About Me
My name is Brian, and I own Mother Tree Makery which is dedicated to making useful things artfully, and artful things made to be used. I make everything from small kitchen utensils like bowls, spoons, and spatulas to coffee tables, chairs, and more. My design aesthetic is strongly influenced by the clean lines of modern Scandinavian furniture makers like Hans Wegner, as well as the craftsmanship of James Krenov. By using mostly foraged and cast off materials that other makers would call scrap I give new life to materials that would otherwise end up as firewood. With a passion for craftsmanship and an endless curiosity, my highest priority is to bring some small joy and beauty into the lives of people in my community so that they can engage in their daily activities with mindfulness and care.
